Why Travel by Rail
A Different Kind of Slow.
Cruise ships move you. Tour buses rush you. Luxury rail invites you to settle in — to watch the world unfold from a private window while a sommelier opens your second glass. The destinations are remarkable. The way you arrive is unforgettable.
Private Suites, Not Seats
Cabins finished in walnut, marble, and brass. Turn-down service. A private en-suite. The sense that someone built this for one couple at a time — because they did.
Cuisine Worth the Detour
Multi-course tasting menus from regional masters, plated in carriages older than your grandparents. Wine pairings included — and never an afterthought.
Routes Most Will Never See
Vineyards in Tuscany, glaciers in the Rockies, lochs in the Highlands — accessed by tracks that planes can't fly and cars can't drive. The view is the destination.
Luxury Rail Journeys
The World's Most Storied Trains
A curated selection of our flagship luxury rail journeys — each designed for travelers who measure value not in miles covered, but in moments worth remembering.
Signature Journey
6 Nights · Spring & Autumn
The Continental Crown
Paris · Lake Geneva · The Alps · Verona · Venice
A five-night chase of the Old World at its most refined — opera in Paris, terraces above Lake Geneva, a sleeper through alpine passes, and a final morning watching Venice rise from the lagoon.
Whisky tastings at private distilleries. Lunches in castles. Days that end with a piper on the platform and a fire already lit in your suite. Scotland, the way Scotland deserves.
Vancouver · Kamloops · Banff · Lake Louise · Jasper
Glass-domed daylight rail through the Rockies, two of the great mountain lodges, and helicopter glaciers if the weather is willing. The most-photographed week most travelers will ever take.
The grand transcontinental — wine country, big-five safari, and a private sundowner at the edge of the Falls. Sleeper carriages in Edwardian wood; a balcony car for the stars.
Bullet-train precision married to private ryokan stays — a kaiseki dinner in Kyoto, a tea ceremony with a fifteenth-generation host, mornings of mist over Hakone.
From the moment you submit your inquiry to the moment you walk through your front door at home, we have a hand on every reservation, transfer, table, and tour. Nothing is "extra." Nothing is "optional."

The greatest hits, paced like a long Sunday lunch. Private after-hours at the Vatican, a Tuscan estate dinner, an evening boat to your hotel terrace on Como.
The world's most beautiful rail line meets a fjord cruise meets the wooden hotels of Bergen. Long days, slow light, and a final dinner of the freshest seafood you'll have all year.
From the Seine to the Côte d'Azur — a champagne tasting in Reims, a day in a Provençal vineyard, a long lunch in a harbor town that hasn't changed in eighty years.
Coffeehouses that haven't changed in a century. Private opera boxes. Candlelit dinners on the Danube. The grandeur of Old Europe, restored — and saved a seat for you.

We expected a beautiful train ride. We got the trip of our lives. Every detail had been thought of before we even thought of it. We've already booked next year.

This is our fifth trip with the team. We don't shop around anymore. Nobody else takes notes the way they do — somehow they remember things about us we forgot we'd told them.

I'm not someone who gushes. But the cabin, the food, the people we met — every penny back twice over. Worth doing the year you decide it's time, not the year you "can."

A Note on Availability
The Best Cabins Don't Wait.
Luxury rail operates with very few cabins per departure — often fewer than thirty. Our most-requested journeys are confirming dates 9 to 14 months ahead, and the windows that matter (anniversaries, milestone birthdays, peak fall color, spring bloom) book first. If you have a date in mind, the gentlest thing we can tell you is this: don't wait until next quarter to ask.
Share a few details below. A senior specialist will personally call you within one business day to discuss first-pass ideas — at no cost, with zero obligation. Prefer to talk now? Call (479) 485-9000.
Common Questions
Before You Book.
For peak-season departures (May–October in Europe and Canada, March–November in Japan, Sep–Nov for the Canadian Rockies), 9 to 14 months ahead is the sweet spot. Some flagship journeys, especially around fall foliage and major holidays, fill 18 months out. Last-minute is occasionally possible — but for a specific date or anniversary, ask early.
Most of our luxury rail journeys range from $5,500 to $15,000 per guest, all-in (rail, hotels, meals, transfers, excursions, specialist support). Flagship journeys with safari extensions or premier suites can reach $25,000+. Pricing depends on cabin grade, season, length of stay, and inclusions — your specialist will provide a transparent, all-in quote rather than a confusing range.
Every itinerary is custom-built. We start with a framework that's been refined over hundreds of trips, then shape it to your interests, mobility, dining preferences, anniversaries, and pace. Most guests adjust at least three or four elements before final confirmation — and we expect them to.
International airfare isn't included in published rates, but we can absolutely book it for you — including business and first-class tickets, ideally with the airline alliance you already favor. Our flight desk regularly accesses fares not available on consumer booking sites.
We strongly recommend comprehensive trip protection on every booking — it covers cancellation, medical, evacuation, and most "life happens" scenarios. Specific terms vary by operator and are disclosed clearly in your written proposal before any deposit is collected. We never bury cancellation language in fine print.
Yes — and we ask up front, because the answer shapes which trains, hotels, and excursions fit. Some heritage carriages have narrow corridors; some private hotels are in 16th-century buildings. Tell us early and we'll be candid about which journeys will, and won't, work comfortably for your party.
Operators sell train tickets. We sell the whole trip — pre- and post-rail hotels, transfers, dining, private guides, excursions, contingency planning, and a single specialist who has been on the route. Our pricing is generally identical to operator-direct, but our included service, insider access, and on-trip support is not something you can buy on a website.
